From None to Deism
by Bethany B.
Over the last few weeks I have been reading different books, and it lead
me to your website. I actually found it through research I did on a post
I saw on an Atheist's Facebook page. I don't remember what the post was
about, but through my research and reading, I found your book:
Deism: A Revolution in Religion, A Revolution in You. I have never
claimed to be an Atheist, but I have never found anything to "associate"
I have always believed in God (I actually have believed in a Mother and Father God, which I found out just a few months ago was more of a Pagan belief), but I have never believed in the "Bible God". I found it cruel and contradictory. I made the decision when I was 13 that I would never attend another church service because I was told "God" gave babies AIDS to punish their parents, and people who have never heard of the "Bible God" would go to Hell because it was their fault for not being "saved". I have kept the promise I made to myself over 16 years ago, and have not regretted it once.
After reading your book, several other books, and looking at different websites, I have finally found others who feel (mostly) the same way I do!! It has been a great relief to me to finally find a group who wouldn't look at me like I have lost my mind. My boyfriend accepts my thought processes when it comes to areas like this, but I have been called an Atheist many times. Solely because I said I was not a Christian.
I have two children and I do not want to them to encounter the fear and negativity I had when I was younger due to religious beliefs. I want my girls to be good, honest, hard-working women who do not have to say "I'm a Christian!" in order to feel good about themselves. I want them to believe that God does exist, and They love them unconditionally. My children will grow up with understanding instead of fear.
I am looking forward to reading the books that are being sent to me!!
