Logic ?

I was once talking to an atheist, when I describe to him my thoughts about a God or religion he suggested I was a deist. I told him God started or lack of a better word on supernatural being creation and then walked away, and that's when he said I was a deist so I've been exploring that since. And now I start to think that maybe that God does intervene on occasions but not to the degree that we would notice. And from what I understand some deus believe he does intervene and some disbelieve he doesn't intervene. So since I do not believe in God of the Bible as written that is my only logical conclusion and thoughts right now. What say you?
